We bought a Zoom h1n handy recorder to capture our basement jam sessions. Along with it, we bought a 128gb microSD card, but we could not get it to work in the device, each time it would tell you it was invalid.

Sone online tutorials say you need a 32gb or smaller card or it won’t work, which I found wasn’t completely true.

The Zoom h1n will not successfully format the card, BUT you can format it on your Mac using disk utility. The format must be MS-DOS (not the other extended fat32 or exfat formats), then it will work.
